Director Shankar Shares Exciting Indian 2 VFX Update : Marvelous Visual Effects by Lola VFX US Ltd

Wait for Indian 2 VFX update is over..! In a much-anticipated sequel to the 1996 hit film ‘Indian,’ veteran actor Kamal Haasan is set to enthrall audiences once again with ‘Indian 2.’ The film’s director, Shankar, who also helmed the original, recently delighted fans with a VFX progress update. Taking to Twitter, Shankar shared a behind-the-scenes glimpse of the VFX production set-up.

What makes ‘Indian 2‘ even more thrilling is the exceptional VFX work being handled by none other than Lola VFX US Ltd, based in Los Angeles, USA. Renowned for its stellar contributions to blockbuster Marvel films like the Captain America series and Ant-Man, Lola VFX is widely admired for its expertise in ageing and de-ageing processes. Shankar expressed his excitement, saying, “Scanning the advanced technology at Lola VFX LA.”

Speculations are rife that Kamal Haasan’s character will undergo a de-ageing transformation in the film. According to reports, the actor had to endure a four-hour makeup session for his aged character, Senapathy, followed by an additional two-hour process to remove the makeup. ‘Indian 2’ promises to present both the young and old versions of the iconic character, and Kamal Haasan is no stranger to such transformations, having previously undergone de-aging scenes in the film ‘Vikram,’ albeit without making it to the final cut.

The making of ‘Indian 2’ has been a challenging journey, with significant delays due to various unfortunate incidents, including the tragic loss of crew members in 2020. Further halts ensued amid the COVID-19 pandemic, legal disputes, and cost overruns. Nevertheless, after much anticipation, the shooting finally resumed in August 2022, much to the delight of fans.

Apart from Kamal Haasan, ‘Indian 2’ boasts a stellar cast including Kajal Aggarwal, Rakul Preet Singh, Siddharth, Vivek, Kalidas Jayaram, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Guru Somasundaram, and Gulshan Grover. The film’s cinematography is handled by Ravi Varman and Rathnavelu, while the editing is masterfully done by Sreekar Prasad. Adding to the excitement, the musical score is composed by the talented Anirudh Ravichander.

Produced jointly by Subaskaran and Udhayanidhi Stalin under the banners of Lyca Productions and Red Giant Movies, respectively, Indian 2 producer has already made headlines with its staggering digital rights deal. Reportedly, Netflix acquired the film’s digital rights for a whopping sum of Rs 200 crore. As fans eagerly await its release, ‘Indian 2’ is tentatively scheduled to hit theaters in April 2024, promising a visual extravaganza fueled by awe-inspiring VFX from Lola VFX US Ltd.
