We’ve got some exciting updates this time around! Not only will we be diving into the mesmerizing art style of VALORANT, but we’ll also be exploring the unique style in development for Project L, our unreleased fighting game. Alongside the classic League of Legends style, these vistas are sure to ignite your inspiration 🔥 and take your artistry to new heights!
💥 The Assignment Your mission, if you choose to accept it, is to create a stunning stylized cast, projectile, and area of effect explosion. We’re eager to see your interpretation of an explosion effect in the vein of VALORANT, League of Legends, or Project L. Let your imagination run wild and craft something truly amazing. The explosion area can have any gameplay effect you dream up! 💫
🎖️ The Judging Criteria Your entries will be carefully evaluated based on several key factors:
- Story: We’re looking for elements that come together to create a cohesive and immersive experience.
- Satisfaction/Entertainment: Make sure your creation is engaging and enjoyable.
- Style Match: Consider elements like hue range, value, timing, and shape language to nail the art style.
📜 The Rules (Important stuff!)
- No purchase necessary to enter.
- Make sure you have a Riot Games account. If you don’t have one, create it for free.
- The contest starts on Aug 1, 2023, at 10:00 AM Pacific Time (PT).
- You have until Sept 30, 2023, 11:59 PM PT to submit your entry.
- Only individual entries are allowed, no team efforts.
- Participants must be 18 years or older.

🎥 The Submission When your masterpiece is ready, use the submission form to upload your final asset. Remember:
- One entry per person.
- The final asset should be a video showcasing your effect with the cast, projectile, area of effect, and outro.
- Avoid camera shake and keep VFX shaders unlit and background untextured.
- Entries should be submitted in MP4 video file format.
