Tom Williams leaves MPC for DNEG

 

DNEG, one of the world’s leading visual effects and animation studios, has announced that Tom Williams has joined their team as Managing Director of Episodic in London. In this new role, Tom will oversee the Episodic VFX services across DNEG and ReDefine, working in partnership with the executive teams of both brands to drive global expansion in this important area of the business.

 

Tom brings more than 25 years of industry experience to his new position, having held various management roles at Sky, Abbey Road Studios, and most recently at MPC. With a wealth of knowledge and experience in the industry, he is well-equipped to lead DNEG’s Episodic team to even greater heights.

 

DNEG’s Episodic team has been recognized with several industry awards in recent years, including two Primetime Emmys® for Star Trek: Discovery and Chernobyl, and three Visual Effects Society Awards for The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power and Foundation. The team has recently delivered exceptional VFX work on major projects like The Last of Us (HBO Max), Extrapolations (Apple TV+), Stranger Things (Season 4) (Netflix), and Citadel (Amazon Prime).

 

Commenting on his new role, Tom expressed his excitement about joining DNEG and the company’s commitment to expanding its episodic VFX services to meet the high demand for its industry-leading services. He looks forward to contributing his experience and insights to take the DNEG Episodic team’s work to new heights.

 

Rohan Desai, Managing Director of ReDefine and DNEG VFX (Canada), also welcomed Tom to the team and highlighted his leadership experience and knowledge of the industry as valuable assets to the company’s focus on episodic VFX work. He is looking forward to working closely with Tom to build upon the solid foundation laid by the Episodic team and bring the very best of what DNEG and ReDefine have to offer to their clients.
