MPC appoints new studio heads in Montreal and London

MPC has recently announced the addition of two new team members to their talented roster. These industry veterans, Daniel Lochem and Zameer Umerji, have taken on the roles of Head of CG and Global Operations Lead, respectively. Their impressive backgrounds and extensive experience are sure to bring new levels of excellence to MPC’s already top-quality VFX work.

Lochem, who previously served as Head of CG at DNEG London and Montreal, has worked on a variety of major films throughout his career. Some of his notable contributions include Blade Runner 2049, The Bourne Ultimatum, Dredd, and Avengers: Endgame. He began his career as a DMP artist and Environment Supervisor, working on projects such as 10,000BC and Quantum of Solace. In 2016, he took on the position of Head of Environments at Framestore Montreal.

Lochem expressed his excitement about joining MPC and working with their talented teams. He is eager to continue delivering top-quality VFX to clients and looks forward to collaborating with his new colleagues.

Umerji, who previously worked at The Mill, brings six years of experience to his new role as Global Operations Lead. He served as General Manager of The Mill’s Bangalore, India studio for three years before being appointed as Global Operations Lead in London. He started his career as a runner at MPC and has worked on several notable features, including Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, The King’s Speech, Moon, and The Infiltrator.

Umerji has already been warmly welcomed by the team at MPC’s London studio and is eager to work alongside his new colleagues. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the table, and his contributions are sure to enhance the company’s production processes.

MPC Global President Jean-Paul Burge welcomed both Lochem and Umerji, stating that their expertise and knowledge in the industry will further strengthen MPC’s production processes and enable their teams to deliver world-class visual effects.
