What is VFX Compositing?

Creating visual effects (VFX) for movies, TV and animated productions involves a crucial step called compositing. Compositing seamlessly blends elements filmed during production with Computer Generated Imagery (CGI) created by other artists. Skilled Nuke Compositors not only do blue or green screen keying and blend the elements, but also fix any issues that arose during filming and enhance VFX shots to match the director’s vision. Ultimately, it is the Compositors who assemble all the final pieces and transform a shot into something spectacular that was previously impossible.

Industry standard Virtual Workstations

We use the remote desktop client to access Cloud Virtual workstations in our studio that are compatible with Windows, macOS, and Linux. These cloud-based workstations are fully equipped with the necessary compositing softwares and vfx compositing course assets, providing a seamless learning experience.

Practical

With our Project-Based Learning approach, students can demonstrate their expertise through a series of assignments designed to showcase their rotoscopy, paint/prep, green screen keying, 2D and 3D compositing skills. Completing these assignments not only helps students showcase their execution skills but also gives them impressive content for their demo reels.

Theory

Our academic trainers, specialized in the industry, have designed a series of custom 2D lessons that comprehensively cover every aspect of rotoscopy, paint/prep, trackind 2D and 3D compositing. These lessons cover the "why," "how," and "when" of using different VFX tools and concepts, making them absolutely fascinating for those who seek to understand how things work.
